A work in progress, aren’t we all? I started this blog to record how I manage to find my way in the Society for Creative Anachronism and to occasionally also mention/discuss things I find interesting on various medieval history blogs I follow. It also lets me spy.. err. I mean read up on other members around the world and be inspired by them. I’ve been involved for two years and I love it. I still know very close to nothing about what I’m doing, but I’m finding it a very useful good exercise to write it all down and correct as I go. Unfortunately not everything I write down stays in my head for when I need it, but hopefully that will improve with practice too. As of April AS 49 (2014) I get to giggle about the fact that I’m Lady Órlaith Chaománach, it still makes me happy everytime I think about it. As of December 2014 I am also now a student of Mistress Melisende Fitzwalter, for which I am extremely grateful.
I have two sons, known in the SCA as Tuathal and Art. We live in the shire of Eplaheimr (Ireland’s Midlands and South) which is part of Lough Devnaree (Ireland) in the Principality of Insulae Draconis (UK, Ireland and Iceland). I’m very happy to hear from fellow SCAdians, so if you want to drop me a line, please do!
